PHRI Presents Microbiome Research at Global Integrative Medicine Congress

PHRI recently presented research at the 3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine, held October 15–18, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The study was delivered as an oral presentation in the Gastrointestinal & Microbiome Medicine session and was titled “Rapid shift of gut microbiome and enrichment of beneficial microbes during arhatic yoga meditation retreat in a single-arm pilot study.”

Findings from the pilot study showed rapid changes in gut microbiome composition during an intensive Arhatic Yoga Meditation retreat, including enrichment of beneficial microbes—highlighting a potential link between meditative practices and gastrointestinal health.
